About Me Tom Weeden

Hi thanks for visiting my site! My name is Tom Weeden and I have been racing motorbikes since I was eleven. I was born in February 1994 and I go to Maidstone Grammar School. I started on Minimotos and now I am racing in the prestigious British 125GP championship.

In 2006, I rode as a privateer riding ZPF Minimotos. I won the S.E.M.R.C championship on my 4.2 MiniMoto and also came 3rd (missing 2nd place by two points) on my Production 8.5 bike.

In 2007 I rode Grc’s for Havoc Racing. In the 4.2, 6.2 and 8.5 classes. In 2007 I moved up to the senior class with riders much older and more experienced than me. Despite this I still managed to win the 4.2s, and came 3rd and 4th in the 6.2 and 8.5 classes.  I also moved up to bigger bikes riding a Jawa Gp 70. This I run at EMRA and A.C.U Dunlop Motostars Cup. Finishing 2nd in EMRA and 3rd in the ACU Motostars.

In the 2008 season I ran a standard Honda Gp125 in the Thundersport GB Club and the Emra Championship with some selected rounds with other clubs for extra practice. Before the season I expected a top 10 finish, but I exceed these expectations and finished 2nd in the GP3 cup, 3rd in the GP3 overall championship (inc. tuned bikes), 2nd in the ACU Clubmans championship, and 4rd in the EMRA 125gp class despite missing several rounds due to clashes with Thundersport.

In 2009 I progressed onto bigger and better things. I made the move up to  the British 125GP series, in the Academy Cup and the overall championship. I rode under the Team Taboo Motorsport banner riding with team owner/rider Michael Hill. I finished 5th in the ACU Academy Cup and scored several points in the main championship. A best finish of 4th in the Cup and 11th overall was a highlight of the year, however I also had success in the few Thundersport meetings I rode in. At the MotoGP support race at Donington I qualifying 2nd in the wet and went on to finish 2nd in the race. In the other Thundersport meeting we contended at Snetterton I finished 1st,1st and 2nd.

My primary focus for 2010 will once again be the British 125GP Championship, in which I will be endeavoring to make frequent visits to the ACU Academy Cup podium and be a consistent top 10 runner.

We seriously need more money to keep up with racing as it is a very costly sport (last year the cost was over 30K) so if you wish to help out with my racing please visit the sponsorship page for more information.
